Followed the path from medical research for saving and/or improving lives to an endpoint of seeking the achieve immortality and godhood.

Employed extensive human experimentation and indoctrication of test subjects about their duty as sacrifices for the advancement of humanity throughout the entirety of this, medical and beyond;
Subjects were thouroughly brainwashed into being willing and eager to be used. It was seen as an honor to become one of Eidolon's chosen.

Attempted to contact, capture and assimilate beings from other planes of existance who they thought to be gods of some sort in their quest for advancement of the human race;
Hoped to create human-god hybrids to breed a new, higher race of beings.
