Secretive, mostly deeper waters, often unseen by anyone else.

Are not water-bound, can shift into a land dwelling form at will for indefinate amounts of time; Some subspecies never live in water at all.

Mostly solitary, some very small groups.

Deeply spiritual, ritualistic, superstitious, old magic.

Ambiguous towards gender, it exists but they (typically, as a culture as a whole) don't pay much mind to it or have any objections to anyone presenting any way they want.

Often spies, assassins, sabateurs, etc. if anyone is ever able to employ their assistance.
